What is the EU Ecolabel?

The EU Ecolabel is a label of environmental excellence that is awarded to products meeting high environmental standards throughout their lifecycle: from raw material extraction, to production, distribution and disposal.

Why are we focused on the EU Ecolabel?

The EU Ecolabel provides clarity. This is how you, as our customer, know you’re buying a sustainable product.

  • The certificate is recognised worldwide. It is the equivalent to the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
  • 83,590 products have been awarded the EU Ecolabel certification.
  • Only 915 of those products are pieces furniture, from only 23 licensed companies.
  • It is a prestigious certification

Fun fact: We were the first company to receive this certification for a non-wooden chair.

No cost premium has been applied to our EU Ecolabel certified range. This is to encourage customers to make sustainable choices. As a business, we aim to increase our EU Ecolabel certified product offering across a wider range of products.

Recycled Plastic

Our shells are made from 50% recycled plastic. The inner mould is made from recycled plastic pellets.

The outer mould is made in virgin plastic, which gives it a flexibility that 100 % recycled plastic wouldn’t.

This has allowed our chairs to be tested for 50 years of use!
