Credit Controller – Part-time

Job Purpose

You will play a critical role in managing the company’s accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive relationships with customers. This role is essential in supporting the financial health of the organisation, by overseeing and coordinating credit control activities.

Required skills and experience

  • Credit Control & Debt Collection: Proactively monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments, and initiate contact with clients to ensure timely collection of outstanding balance
  • Account Reconciliation:
    Regularly reconcile customer accounts, ensuring that all payments are accurately recorded, and identify any discrepancies or issues that may need resolving
  • Credit Assessment:
    Conduct credit checks for new and existing customers to assess creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits in line with company policy
  • Payment Allocation:
    Accurately allocate incoming payments to respective accounts and update financial records accordingly
  • Reporting:
    Prepare weekly and monthly aging reports and provide status updates on outstanding receivables to the finance team
  • Relationship Management:
    Liaise with customers and internal sales teams to address any billing issues or queries that could delay payments, aiming to maintain positive customer relationships
  • Compliance & Record-Keeping:
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer communications, payment arrangements, and credit applications, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies
  • Management of the Invoice Finance/CID facility
  • Other ad hoc duties as required to assist and support finance team

 

  • Previous experience as a Credit Controller, preferably within a manufacturing or similar industry
  • Strong understanding of credit control processes, debt collection, and account reconciliation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with good time management and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations and practices is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy
  • Proactive problem-solver with a customer-oriented approach
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality
  • Positive can do attitude

 

 
This position is Monday to Friday 25 hours per week working 5 days 9.30am – 2.30pm or we could consider 4 days at 9.00am – 5.00pm or 8.30am – 4.30pm.
